SouthPine Railroad - (Routes)

SouthPine Railroad Projects – Overview

While I do not consider myself to be an accomplished route builder in “Trainz”, when I first started my journey in this simulator and discovered surveyor, like many other creators I had a vision of creating that one massive route that would be as prototypical as I or anyone could possibly imagine. Those who have been in the community for a while may remember a creator called Paul Haglund (fishlipsatwork), Paul was well known for creating DEM terrain maps and I decided to stitch some together to make the basis of my “Ultimate” route, I actually think from memory that I may have joined four (4) of his DEM maps together.

With just a little more experience it became very evident that the size of this route was far beyond my capabilities, I think it would be almost impossible for a group of route builders to complete. I did however manage to populate the complete length of the route with dual track running the complete length on a trip that takes almost 7 hours real time to complete.

That said I do enjoy route building and getting to set up sessions in such a way that trains can run in a relatively prototypical manner under AI conditions, and of course I am an asset creator as well and having routes that I am building that can double as test beds for my assets just makes sense to me. So below you will find a list of the current routes I am working on, I will also be providing more detailed separate pages for each route.

Base board count coming……

Layout Basis:

The SouthPine Granger route is based heavily on the original 2004 route “Watseka & Kankakee Railroad” created by George Fisher (gfisher)

Completion Level:

55% – This route is currently not scheduled for release. After importing the route into TRS22 there were some errors caused by the number of trackmarks I had used. Until I find the solution to these errors I will not consider releasing the route.

Layout Basis:

The SouthPine Hump Yard Stage 1 is a freelanced route that is designed to be used as a module for a larger route. The hump yard itself has an 84 track bowl that actually works as 2 x 42 track separate yards, with two feeder tracks pushing rolling stock over two individual humps.

Completion Level:

85% – This route is currently not scheduled for release before 2024, when it is released it will probably only have one (1) available session.
